has it been that long?

ack, it's valentine's day again. the day that i er.. not exactly 'dread' the most, just that, i don't really fancy the idea of having a 'specific' day to celebrate love. L-O-V-E should be celebrated EVERYDAY! and besides, did you know that st. valentine was beheaded for trying to convert the emperor?

so.. yeah.

These are vector art I did for a customer of mine:

She evolved from having a nicely-blown hair to a messy-haired woman to a woman that wipes a table like an amah or a worker at a coffee shop. Except that she's so much prettier than most of the "P" women you'll see at our local coffee shop here in KK. lol

What I'm trying to say is: working in the designing field is no walk in the park. Things might be pretty in my eyes, but to the customer, it might be the other way around. Like they say, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". Sometimes I get customer who instantly agrees with my design, sometimes I don't.

Which is fine with me. :) Really. As long as people don't send me rude emails with broken English: that could really trigger the anger in the normally-happy me. Ha ha ha.

By the way, the image above is not the final image for the customer. I just got an email requesting for some minor changes in the illustration.

I will have to do it tomorrow, because right now, I need my beauty sleep. It's 1:50 a.m sudah! Matai!

Back to reality. Again.

Back to the city.. but still in the holiday mood. My brother's wedding went smoothly as planned and everyone enjoyed themselves. Some even enjoyed it waaaaay too much! LOL

Anyway, I'll talk about the wedding in my next post. Still waiting for the official photos from my brother. Cannot post anyhow one... nanti terpost gambar yang bida-bida, marah diorang. *hee*

Now since I couldn't post about the wedding yet, I'm gonna post some pictures of my latest work that I did for a production company in Atlanta. :D

Nice ka? Nice ka? It's so heartwarming to know that somewhere in Atlana, people are seeing my name on the postcard that they're holding. Woweeeeee!! :D :D :D

My new notepad!

Made a personalized notepad for myself last night. Comes with my name and link at the bottom of the paper too - all 60 pages! :-)

I also made a personalized planner refill for my pink Organizer... but I can't show you yet coz it's not done. Still waiting for my 7-hole puncher from the States... :(

I completed a blog design for Mell last week. She wanted something that looked bright with the combination of red, white and green.

On another note, I am thinking of replacing the chair at my mini studio with a wicker chair. Something white, like this:

But the thing is, I'm not sure if any furniture shop in KK sells it individually. Because I only need one. I know a few furniture shops in Penampang sells wicker chair, but they come in set. With a coffee table....

Maybe pretty Ms. Fay knows where I can get one? :P

If you happen to live around KK or know where I can get just one wicker chair, please, please, please let me know. I'd love to get one for my mini studio! :D

Here comes the weekend

Just when I was bursting with ideas for my next commissioned assignment (I got a new project! Yay!), Bunny came and said, "Sayang, jom tengok Despicable Me?"

So I dropped my pencil, cleared my work table and er.. posted this on my blog.. before I head for the shower. :D

Work can wait. My dahling is taking me out for a movie. We're going out for a movie!!!! ❤❤❤

Busy Bee

Gahhh.. so many things to do, so little time. But BUSY is good for my pocket! :D

Was at Suria again yesterday with my parents and sister. And Bunny too. Baby sis is going back to Kuching so we were out to get some stuff for her: pants and other daily stuff ..but she ended up buying other things instead. -_- As for me, I only bought a pastel pink nail polish and a tape (for my mini studio).  And ohhhhh... mom got me some office supplies as an early birthday gift! Ha ha ha. Ohhhh I really love those supplies. Nantilah I take pictures, coz right now, I'm just too lazy to get my camera out and take photos.

Just finished working on a Wedding Banner design, gonna get them printed later. Here's a sneak peek:

Since my baby sis is going back tomorrow, I'm thinking of taking my family for steamboat tonight. Or should I cook? But I'm too lazy lah. Going off to Karamunsing in a few hours time to get some supplies for my next project some more...

Aaaaaaaaaaa how la?! How la?! I need some time for my Farmville2 and TV Drama too! :~(

Blog Oh Mighty!

I think my blog has magic. A super power-like thingy that no one knows. Not even me. Because 3 days after posting about my ongoing period... it finally STOP! Yes, my period finally stopped today!!! Like, YAY! I'm not gonna die. I do not have to write my will. Best of all? I do not have to spend extra $$$ for the OBGYN!!

O, the weather outside is warmer..

As much as I enjoy a warm weather, I do not particularly like it in an extreme heat. I've showered  three times today (and it's only 4:44PM). Rainy days has always been my favorite, bringing out the anticipation of a nice, relaxing sleep with the soothing sound of raindrops on the roof.

Today, I have been sitting on my work desk, working on customized design request. Particularly on a website/blog design:

Admittedly, hot weather does not help in squeezing the creative juice out of my brain. More like, they make it go blank. lol. But I have learned that we should be thankful for everything that we have. The weather might be too hot for me, but at least I have the luxury of working from home, sitting comfortably under the roof when others had to work under the hot sun...

Do you prefer the sun or rain? I particularly like the rain. Rain just makes me wanna sing!

Wake me up..!

Something weird happened this morning. (I don't know if "weird" is the word, but it's just not of the ordinary lah). I went to bed around 4:00 in the morning coz I was trying to complete a customized design for a client... and then the weird thing happened. In my sleep, a woman came and talked to me. Somewhere along the line, she told me that, "Sarah appears to be angel-like, but actually she's not." And then she spoke in Malay: "Nama saya Rara Riri. Saya dari Indonesia.. Kamu sedang tidur sekarang, tapi kamu tidak boleh bangun." (My name's Rara Riri. I'm from Indonesia.. You are sleeping right now but you can not wake up.")

And then she started chanting her name: "Rara Riri, Rara Riri, Rara Riri, Rara Riri...." over and over again. Eventually, her voice started to sound wicked. Almost devil-like. Knowing that I am in a state of dream, I tried so hard to open my eyes and wake up - but I couldn't!! Couldn't even open my eyes! Knowing that Bunny's just outside the bedroom, on his computer table, I tried to hit the bedroom wall to make a sound - and still I couldn't! God knows how angry and panic I was that I tried my whole energy to wake myself up. I'm not sure how long it took, but I finally managed to wake up. Bunny entered the room few minutes later and found me sitting on the bed.

"What's wrong??"

"I'll tell you later."

So I jumped out of the bed, took a quick shower and get ready for Sunday mass.

We were about 5 minutes late.

Anyway, that was what happened. Maybe I shouldn't sleep too late next time... but at least I managed to complete one design task. Take a peek:

Now off I go to take a shower for the 5th time today. It's so HOT in KK today, even the AC couldn't help much. Hope your weekend is not as weird as mine. ;)

Can I sleep longer, please?

Wow, it's been over 2 weeks since I post something over here. It's been over 2 weeks too since I started working at my new working place.

What can I say? Hmmm..

The office is beautiful. The lightings are dim - which is perfect because bright lights are a pain to the eyes. My LCD monitor is super-huge (perfect for my design works) and my cubicle is not really a cubicle at all. It's beautiful. A desk with no cubicle walls. :)

My workmates are quite friendly. We have a small radio for the creative team and we play Fly FM radio all the time! lol.

Eh, maybe I should just take a photo of my workspace and post it over here for you to see. But not today lah. I'm back home and it's a weekend - I don't work on weekends.

But I only have 1 word for my new job: super tiring and exhausting. (oops, that's 4 words) If it wasn't for the money........ heh

Anyway, I gotta go to bed now. Have to wake up early for church tomorrow. Didn't want to miss it again this week!

a night to remember

Just finished working on a client's custom blog design today. FINALLY after a month working on it! Now I just gotta sit back and wait for her final input - in case she needs some stuff to add/edit.

*fingers cross* that she will accept the design as it is. *hee*

By the way, the illustration to the left has got nothing to do with the client's new custom blog design. Ini adalah untuk tujuan hiasan semata-mata. lol

Anyway, I like that butt. It reminds me of my own fat butt and how I need to exercise more and eat less rice and sugar (if possible).

And oh.. since I've been working on custom blog design for a client lately, I'm beginning to think that my blog skin needs some revamp too! Yeah.. I'm starting to get tired of this green theme already. Maybe it's time to think of some new look..

Anyway, (wow, how many times did I used "anyway"??) going off to 7-E with the fiancé and my brother. We're gonna have our late night Slurpeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

P/S I just noticed. It's only 10:41PM?! I tot it's midnight already....

UPDATE: Brother's gf just called. We're going yumcha instead. "Ada ABC sana tu", said my brother. Yay.
